Uniting governments and universities to improve public policy

The Australian Public Policy Institute (APPI) is a unique joint-venture between government and a coalition of universities dedicated to public benefit research. The Institute partners with government to identify public policy solutions by mobilising university expertise, accelerating collaboration between policymakers and researchers for the good of all Australians. Launched in 2021 as the James Martin Institute for Public Policy (JMI), APPI is an independent, non-partisan charity based in Sydney and Canberra.

GOVERNANCE

APPI is an independent body governed by a Board of directors.

APPI is an independent charity, governed by its Board. The Board is responsible for the overall governance, management and strategic direction of APPI. The Board comprises seven directors, including an independent Chairperson.
