The James Martin Institute for Public Policy (JMI) and the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration and partnerships between the APS and the university sector. The Memorandum, signed in January 2025, fosters joint efforts to build public policy capabilities, share information and insights, and build networks for collaboration.

Established by the NSW Government and a group of leading universities in 2021, JMI is an independent, non-partisan government and university joint-venture. JMI is dedicated to supporting government in tackling their most pressing public policy challenges. This strategic partnership with the APSC reflects JMI’s increasing cross-jurisdictional approach and the success of its partnership-based model.
