JMI co-hosted a roundtable on Digital ID with the UTS Human Technology Institute (HTI) as part of the JMI Policy Challenge Grants program. The roundtable was informed by findings from Improving governance and training for the use of facial verification technology in NSW Digital ID, the result of the grant, and convened senior public servants and leading experts from across Australia to tackle pivotal issues in rolling out digital identity initiatives. The discussion centred on ensuring proper governance and accountability over digital IDs, and the importance of ongoing cooperation across jurisdictions in this rapidly evolving space.
