Dr Frances Foster-Thorpe

Dr Frances Foster-Thorpe is Executive Director of Shaping Futures and Data Insights at The Cabinet Office (NSW). Frances has a government and research background, which focuses on how to progress large-scale national reforms within Australia’s federal system. Her current role has focused on establishing foresight and intelligence capabilities to inform social, economic and environment policy and national data reform to enable more data-informed policy and an improved relationship between government and communities around data. She led the initial development of the National Disability Data Asset nationally and is now focused on NSW’s work to enable shared access to data by Aboriginal communities and implement Aboriginal Data Sovereignty in NSW with the Coalition of Peaks and NSW agencies.
